An event for northshore men

We recently polled men, and asked them “what do you most need right now?” - almost 40% responded friendship and fellowship.

We want to set men on the Northshore up for friendship and fellowship.

This event is designed to give men time and space to hang out, in a casual setting, doing something we all love - watching a good movie. PLUS…we’ll be outside under the stars at a local cattle farm.

Don’t miss this opportunity to pursue friendship with like-minded men on the Northshore.

What we’re watching

What does it mean to be a man? Every movie offers an answer this question. Some movies portray men that are all courage and no brains; others offer characters that are overflowing with skill but short on virtue. It’s difficult to find a decent movie that portrays the kind of man I actually aspire to be. There is, however, something about the type of man portrayed in this movie that I think is worth talking about.

Where we’ll be

HH Squared is a beef cattle farm located less than 10 minutes from downtown Covington. We’ll project the movie on a big screen in the east pasture. The cows will not be joining us for the duration of the movie, but you’re welcome to go tell them hi.

free resource

Every guy that attends will be given a copy of 10 Questions Men Must Answer. The purpose of this resource, is to encourage meaningful ongoing conversations among men. We want you to take the questions and use them to bolster conversations whenever you find yourself hanging out with a group of friends. You’ll have an opportunity at the Movie Night to meet local men who are hosting fire-pit gatherings where these questions will be discussed.

Bring your own chair

There’s plenty of room for seating, but you’re in charge of bringing your own chair. If you forget, we’ll have a few extras laying around. And you are welcome to just sit in the grass, but remember…it’s a cow pasture.

  • This night is not about watching the “best” movie together - though the quality of the movie is good. The goal is to set men up for thinking about manhood. What does it mean to be a man? This movie portrays a particular approach to manhood that I think is worth discussing with friends.
